Get to Know Best Body Shop
Best Body Shop is the one-stop auto repair shop that is crazy about three things: You as our customer, your vehicle, and our team. We strive to transform our day-to-day customers into rabid fans who are just as passionate about the repair of their vehicle as we are. We commit to adhering to manufacturers’ design-based repair recommendations and providing our fans with the safest and most economical repairs that will send them with something to write home about.
The local Wichita business was established in the spring of 2014 by Clay Hoberecht, who developed the vision for Best Body Shop after devoting more than a decade of his life to following his passion for the automotive bodywork and paint industry.
Clay spent countless hours learning and gaining skills from some of the top local leaders in the auto repair industry before finally settling down to make his own unique imprint in the automotive world. He successfully bootstrapped the operation after securing a small but satisfying location in west Wichita. Carrying only his heart for the auto body industry, some powerful and dedicated mentors, and all the tools he acquired along the way., Best Body Shop quickly evolved into a team-oriented establishment. Clay knew from the very beginning that one of his greatest desires was to create an establishment that would shape and harbor successful men and women for our community. He was inspired to make major changes in the workplace by creating a very specific culture of being “Humble, Hungry and Smart.” That is why you will find our team executing daily morning meetings revolved around topics ranging from shop flow operations, conflict resolution and team building, to discussing the personal development books we read as a team each month. We also share lunch together every day as a way for us to bring the family feel to our workplace and be able to share our personal lives and let loose a little.
Owner of Best Body Shop
Clay Hoberecht is a self-made entrepreneur and the owner of Best Body Shop, a premier automotive collision repair center and custom auto body shop, in Wichita, Kansas. Currently residing in Wichita with his wife, Barbara and their two daughters, Charlie and Chase, Clay was born and raised in Park City, Kansas to Marshall and Jill Hoberecht. He has an older brother, Clint and a younger sister, Jilliann, along with many wonderful nieces and nephews. At a young age, Clay developed a love for creating things. He spent many days of his youth helping his father with their family business, “Looking Up,” where he was responsible for both awning cleanings and wrapping, hanging and arranging Christmas light presentations all over the city of Wichita and the surrounding areas. When he wasn’t busy helping with the business, Clay was either riding BMX with his friends or assisting as a youth leader at Cornerstone Church. When Clay was 16, his father allocated a portion of their family garage to allow Clay to pursue his passion for building cars. With just half of that two-car garage, he became a self-taught, dedicated body man. From that point on, Clay surrounded himself with other well-known and talented body shop owners and painters, learning everything that he could possibly absorb. Finally, throughout the course of his career, Clay worked for 3 prestigiously known local auto body shops and eventually made the decision to take on the entrepreneur adventure for himself.
Clay is passionate about his business and has created a culture at Best Body Shop that focuses on being Humble, Hungry and Smart. His desire is to change the automotive repair industry by creating a transparent atmosphere for both his customers and his team: the customers get honest answers and quality repairs, and the team is highly involved in business growth, flow and goals. Clay’s desire to create a team of healthy successful men and women, not just employees, has allowed him to build a team that feels more like family, who focus on trust, healthy conflict, goal setting and accountability. Best Body Shop was founded in May of 2014 and has gained several team members and fans that share the same passion as Clay for personal development, as well as changing the automotive industry and gaining rabid fans who receive high quality, personal care for themselves and their automobiles.
Best Body Shop is dedicated to putting our customers’ safety and satisfaction first by providing high-quality collision and custom repairs through a transparent process.
