POST REPAIR INSPECTION

WHAT IS A POST REPAIR INSPECTION

A Post Repair Inspection is performed after a collision repair has been completed.

This process is used to ensure a safe and proper repair was performed and that you and your family are safe in the previously repaired vehicle.

At Best Body Shop, we start with a free physical inspection of the repaired areas and a review of the repair invoice.

If there are any aspects of the repair or invoice that are not in line with manufacturer guidelines, then a full inspection will be scheduled.

This inspection involves measuring structural components, disassembling necessary areas to inspect previously damaged parts, and reviewing electrical systems, diagnosis, and more.

Ultimately, when a Post Repair Inspection is finished, you will be able to know specifically whether your vehicle was repaired correctly or not.

If not, you will know what needs to be repaired in order for it to be correct and safe.

WHAT TO DO AFTER A POST REPAIR INSPECTION

Our sole focus and purpose for a Post Repair Inspection is to determine and communicate to you whether the repair performed to your vehicle is safe and proper.

When a vehicle fails a Post Repair Inspection, the following steps are what Best Body Shop has seen to be successful in rectifying the situation:

  • Forward Post Repair Inspection results to the at-fault collision repair facility and associated insurance company

  • Attach at-fault repair facility’s partners (manufacturer certifications, etc.)

  • Make a formal complaint with the insurance commissioner

  • Notify the consumer protection department of the state attorney’s office

Best Body Shop staff will help you through this entire process.

We have contact information and instructions for each step.

Best Body Shop has developed relationships with consumer protection-minded departments that will be readily available for you whenever you need.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER

Ultimately, your vehicle is a computer on wheels.

It is designed to absorb energy, direct that energy, while reading that energy at thousands per second… all while communicating to your safety systems in order to save you or your family’s life when involved in a collision.

If your vehicle is not repaired within the guidelines of the manufacturer, then there is no way to ensure that the vehicle will react appropriately when involved in a collision.

Most body shops that fail a post repair inspection have their focus on money or keeping their insurance partners happy by cutting costs.

Procedures that get skipped can put the occupant in a dangerous position… and most of the time, they don’t even know it.
